Sketches...

Just another sketchbook page...
As you can obviously see I recently watched Surf's Up. I liked the movie very much...The characters were fantastic and the environments and waves were like o_O;
I also liked the documentary style of story telling. Worked surprisingly nice. I'd say it's a must see!

Sketchbook pages....

Damn those mosquitos...
I was stung by them several times today.

Dear Mosquitos,
I don't mind if you take my blood. You can take as much as you want but please don't use the itching poison. :(

Back in Ludwigsburg

I'm back in Ludwigsburg. I didn't sleep much last night and I immediately fell asleep when I sat down in the plane. I woke up when we landed ^^;

Here are some sketches I did on my way home.

mini sketches...

I came back to my hometown Hamburg on thursday last week. I met a friend Katharina B. from primary school on friday! We haven't seen each other for so long. That was awesome.
My flight back to Stuttgart is in about an hour and a half. Need to hurry!
Here are some doodles of my mini sketchbook I always carry with me.

I bought new pastel paper and did some quick sketches. Pastels are really fun but your hands get dirty ^^

Oh...almost forgot! My counter says over 10000 visitors and more! Thank you so much for your continuous visits! You guys help me to keep my hands busy ^^v I really appreciate it. Thank you! m(_ _)m

Cat Bot

Ben Plouffe inspired me to try pastels. And I have to admit I did miss the undo function ^^;
But I had a lot of fun drawing with pastels.
There is also a bit of photoshop involved for the little touch ups.

Drawing Heads...

Today I watched the "Drawing the Adult Male Head" Gnomon DVD by Bob Kato. I have to say wow...this guy is amazing...
I drew in my sketchbook while the DVD was running. I think I learned a lot today such as working with simple lines 'hard edges' and 'soft edges'.
I also learned a lot about leading the eye in a drawing. 'Where is the focal point', 'Where do I have to add detail' and stuff. It is a really great DVD and I can recommend it to anyone who is interested in drawing.

Todays eye opener: Keep it simple ^^

Kong Jr.

Played around with Markers today. I find it very thrilling to sketch directly with pen on paper. No eraser, no undo...no layers ^^;
But it's a good training cause you have to think carefully about each pen stroke.
